Track Family Fun Parks Arcade

Courtesy of Google Images
Price: Depends on what you want to spend

Family Friendly: The arcade is so much fun for anyone who can reach the controls.

Adventure Synopsis: I love arcades solely for air hockey, but it’s all fun!

Grade: A

Sometimes the best part of going to the the Track Family Fun Parks Arcade is to play games with friends! It’s friendly competition and it’s always entertaining to see someone jumping about in jubilation after winning a game. Then again, there are some people who may not be able to handle that, but that’s okay.

Friendly competition is fun and your entire family may find it enjoyable. I think some of the best times with my family have come from watching my dad attempt to score the highest on the racing games.
Like I said in the synopsis, I love air hockey and there’s usually one available at most arcardes.

Family Friendly: Depending on what movie rating you see, it can be very family friendly.

Adventure Synopsis: I think going to the movies is a great adventure!

Grade: A+

I love going to the movies because each time is a new adventure! Whether I am watching an action, comedy or romance film, I have a good time.

Some of the best times I have had have been at the movies! I have gone to midnight showings of new releases with friends and have had a fabulous time. I think going to the movies is an excellent way to enjoy time with friends.
One of my favorite ways to watch a movie is in the cinema. I think this is because being in the theater forces me to focus on the film rather than reading a book, doing laundry or completing homework.

Price: Free

Family Friendly: So educational! The Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery offers information about the habitat of the water life.

Adventure Synopsis: An interesting time to learn about the creatures that swim in Taneycomo and Table Rock Lake.

Grade: A

The only reason I would normally venture to the lake is to go swimming; I am not a fisherman. However, the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery offers a great chance to learn about fish, turtles and much more!

In the aquarium located within the center, you can see rainbow and brown trout that are huge, much bigger than bread boxes! The center also has a variety of snakes, spiders and amphibians, which appeals to a lot of kids! I really enjoy learning about creatures, so I had a lot of fun at the fish hatchery.
I think people may underestimate how much fun they may have at places like the fish hatchery! Don’t miss out on the fun!

Castle of Chaos

Courtesy of Google Images
Price: $17.95

Family Friendly: It was weird to me, so it may scare small children probably.

Synopsis of Adventure: It was a virtual video game and I’m not a gamer.

Grade: C

This is probably one of the worst places I have gone to. Castle of Chaos was much different than I was originally anticipating. I was expecting a 5D movie in which the computer graphics attempted to scare the audiences with a horror story with really good detail and effects. Instead, I was told to point a toy gun and shoot.
The main reason I had fun was because the people that were with me made jokes about the graphics and the quality of the playing time, which in turn made me laugh. I think the makers of the Castle of Chaos could have done more to make this game interesting.

Hannah's Maze of Mirrors

Price: $17.95

Family Friendly: Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors was scary! But fun!
Synopsis of Adventure: I had fun but it was a little freaky when I got separated from my group.

Grade: B
Along with going to the Hollywood Wax Museum for my birthday, I also took a tour of Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors. Through the many reflections were myself, my mom, little sister and my boyfriend. I had a good time, but after a while, my stomach started churning because the large amount of reflections was making me so dizzy!

At one point I became turned around and I lost my bearings. I was trying to locate my group and I almost ploughed into a reflection of my boyfriend thinking it was really him!
Overall, I think the journey through the mirrors was good. It was my first experience in a hall of mirrors, so it was fun!

Price: $17.95

Family Friendly: The Hollywood Wax Museum is very fun; however, there is a horror section that you may bypass if you don’t want to take the little kids through.

Synopsis of Adventure: I loved it! I got to pose next to wax figures and get my photo taken!

Grade: A-

For my birthday I went to the Hollywood Wax Museum and had a blast! It was so much fun! There are so many actors who have been made into a wax figurine. From the Star Trek crew to Charlie’s Angels, they’re all there for you to pose with!

I love movies and I get the feeling of being in a Hollywood time capsule within the walls of the wax museum. It was so much fun to get up close and personal with movie stars and make funny faces as my picture was taken.
I had so much fun!

Lakeshore Trail

Trees along the Lakeshore Trail
Price: Free

Family Friendly: The Lakeshore Trail is paved and offers beautiful scenery of Table Rock Lake.

Synopsis of Adventure: The area of the trail is so serene and peaceful. It's perfect to take some time away from your busy schedule to enjoy nature.

Grade: A+

I love taking walks, whether it's along a trail, across a park or in the woods. There's something so peaceful about being surrounded by nature and enjoying the sounds of birds in the trees, the wind rustling through your hair and the lack of traffic noises.

The Lakeshore Trail is a path that allows walking, skateboarding, biking, roller blading, and any other small vehicles. This is surprising because most areas do not allow all of those activities.

Some of my favorite parts of the Lakeshore Trail includes the persimmon tree, a tree that is said to be able to predict the severity of winter by cutting into it, but I'm sure that is just a myth.

Bark of the persimmon tree.
When I went on the Lakeshore Trail, I went with Dewey Short Visitor Center's Morgan Wyatt, special events and tours manager, and other individuals interested in a short hike.

The Lakeshore Trail is a unique experience in which I plan to have again. It's fun in any season because the entire landscape of Missouri changes in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
